La Chiesa, come gli apostoli, chiede oggi al suo Maestro: “Dove vuoi che andiamo a preparare perché tu possa mangiare la Pasqua?”. La risposa non cambia: ci invita a preparare la Pasqua lì dove incrociamo l’uomo d’oggi con la brocca  d’acqua (vuota!) tra le mani. Queste mani e la brocca vuota cercano una sorgente dove attingere per dissetarsi: “Chi mangia la mia carne e beve il mio sangue ha la vita eterna! “(Gv 6). Il sacramento pasquale dell’Eucaristia colma le attese dell’uomo, le sue ricerche, la sua fame; sostiene la sua debolezza e rende possibili, nonostante tutto, le sue legittime ma martoriate speranze alla coppa del sangue della vita.
